General Manager – Culture & Capability
Growing up in regional Victoria and helping run the family farm during a period of extreme drought developed a strong work ethic and passion for being organised, resilient, positive and passionate about what you do. Moving to Melbourne to study in 2003, Lizzy worked fulltime while studying to ensure that when she graduated, she had already begun cultivating networks and building the capability and experience required to give her a head-start in her career.
Shaped by the amazing leaders and teams that she has been a part of throughout her career, she specialises in developing green-fields HR functions, employee engagement, culture, internal communications, change management and customer experience and she has worked extensively within financial services and data industries in a range of HR focused roles.
With a human centred design focus, Lizzy now works with HESTA both strategically and operationally, to support internal communications, engagement, diversity, organisation-wide capability development, leadership development and corporate social responsibility. HESTA’s unique culture has supported top decile engagement and alignment scores for the past three years and a retention rate of 96% for the past two years.
Lizzy is a busy working mother of an adventurous and rebellious 2 year old daughter, Peaches Jean, and sits on a Board for ‘The Retreat’ which supports families who have experienced trauma, by providing short-term accommodation in the Cathedral Mountains for processing grief and reconnecting with self and family.
Lizzy is personally passionate about LGBTIQ support, financial equality for women, challenging gender stereotypes and calling out personal, workplace and societal behaviour that is personally and professionally limiting.
She is practical, honest and connected about her ‘why’ which is to help HESTA employees have the best experience throughout their career at HESTA as possible.
